Wow okay so i'm not exactly that prolific when it comes to journal entries. Yes i notice my last one was around six months ago. So what have i been doing since then. First of all i was living out my last semester of highschool, which in my opinion went very well. Then the summer started. Well i havn't really been up to much this summer, no trips or anything like that. Though i wish i could go to europe.

Photographically i've learned alot of techniques but i havn't used the camera much. I guess i've been so busy with everything else, that i just had to leave the photo behind for a while. I recenly entered a photography contest in the town of ajax, and am awaiting the results. It's run through Blacks Photography store, so hopefully the prizes will be worth it. I had a look at the other enteries that have been submitted to date, so i'm not too confident with mine, but there's always room for optimism.

I seem to be obsessed with clouds these days. When it comes to peice selection i always go with a sky full of clouds. Sadly for some reason my area either has low whispy clouds or no clouds at all, which is just dissapointing. I love the big poofy ones. Thats probably one of the reason's i havn't been submitting much recently either. I think i'm moving past the minimalism i used to be into, and into something more complex. Lol oh the progression of an artist. I guess that's what it's all about though; finding a style that suits you.

Okay so coming up this fall i'll be starting my first year at University! (yay). I'm attending the University of Westen Ontario, and am enrolled in the Medical Science Undergraduate Program. I'm really excited, courses are all chosen, though my program doesnt' leave much room for choices. Umm i got my residence placement at Medway-Sydenham Hall, which was my 2nd choice so i'm pretty happy. Frosh is gonna be amazing, or so i hope it lives up to my expectations. Right now i'm just buying all the things i need for my dorm etc etc.

Speaking of living space, I just painted my room (finally). Okay i know you might think it's pointless cuz i'll be moving out in less than a month, but my dad had the paint and I had nothing to do so i got on it!. It was a bit of a struggle but i managed. First off i had to strip the wallpaper without a steamer. NEVER TRY TO DO THAT! The cieling was the worst part, lol got paint all over myself. Anyways it's now a dark, strong obergene on the walls, and on the back wall there are contrasting horizontal red stripes of different sizes. I like the way it turned out even though it did take a good 3 days.

I'm hoping to hit a taste of danforth this weekend downtown and do a bit more shopping around for the school year. (New wardrobe score!) Also need to get a laptop. Looking at a Dell Inspiron 6400 with 2.16 Ghz Intel Duo processor, 120MB harddrive 1GB 2Dimm ram, cd/dvd burner and all the works aswell. That's definatly gonna be exciting.

Well that's pretty much the last 6 months in a nutshell. Lemme know how your summers are going.

It's Been A While...

Okay I admit, for those of you who have watched me over the last 4 months there hasn't really been much to look at. I apologize but the only word to sum up my life in that time is busy. It's pretty much been a rollercoster, so much to do at school and outside. I'll give you some major hightlights:

1. University Applications: okay these can be a bitch and a half. I mean in essence they're like deciding your future. I applied to UBC, McGill, Western and Ottawa for kinesiology or health science. Also followed it up with scholarship applications. It doesn't help taht the question on there follow the lines of "what is your greatest achievement?" "what is your life goal" "why the hell does our institution even give a rats ass about you?" I think i'm pretty much done with them now. I've never been good at goal setting or writing about myself so it was kinda a struggle.

2. 18th Birthday: It's official, I'm an adult. Nuff said.

3. Exams: Stress, stress, stress. I wanted to blow my brains out. It was ridiculous. Oh well they're done and i'm on the road to an easy semester featuring such subjects as calculus, earth space science, english and the ever popular SPARE!

4. Time Off: Kinda leads in from the last subject, but it's what i'm enjoying right now, and don't mistake me, i'm using it well. Shopping, and hanging out with friends. Wouldn't have it any other way. Though i'm trying to go see brokeback mountain and bake cookies. It's all on the Agenda.

Okay so that's basically my life for the past three months, putting an emphasis on number 3. Artwork has been really slow, I just havn't had the time and all my creativity has been poured into assignments and other things along those lines. I guess this is why my DA page has remained unattended to for so long. It comes and goes, and when it comes back around i'm sure you'll start to see the work pour back in. My subscription is expiring. When I look back It seems like i could've put it to more use, but i am still greatful i had it. I'm gonna cut there, and not update my featured artsist or mini gallery.

Journal

Alrite guys, i'm back and ready to roll. Just returned from my 5 week vacation in England, and lemme tell you, it was awesome. There was just soo much to see and do, and the weeks just flew by. I was mainly in London, but took trips to the north and south. Went to a few festivals and also visited quite a few beaches. The weather wasn't that brilliant but i still mananged to improve upon my tan. I also managed to do alot of shopping, in Central London and in the rest of the country. I blew alot of cash. Also hit the sights, visited a few museaums including the Tate Modern in Central London. That one was brilliant, it mixed alot of mondern and contemporary peices with older styles. I'll be submitting peices from my trip in the next few weeks.

So now i'm back home and everything seems soo busy. I've just been swamped with things i have to do before school, and i have less than a week to finish it all. I've just managed to unpack, and i'm trying to re-organize my room, and maybe mix up the decor a bit. It's nice to get a fresh look every so often. I'm also trying to update my resumé so i can get a job for this school year. Going to head down to a job fair tonite and check out some of the possibilites. I was thinking something in electronics or maybe a bank, i really don't wanna work in the mall.

I hope your summers have been as eventful as mine, this has probably been one of the best ones i've ever had. Lemme know what you've been up to, gimmie some highlights, or even a bit of feedback on my latest peices.

Journal

I just spend the last week in Montreal/Ottawa, and it was sooo much fun! Of course it had it's low points, but overall it was an amazing trip. Ottawa was kinda blah, but I got to go to the national art gallery and the museum of contemporary photography which were both really good. The renaissance exhibit at the national gallery was really dry, i don't really go for most of the italian renaissance paintings, the colours and topics are very dry, or at least to me. Montreal was BRILLIANT!!! I was there during the Jazz Festival; it was so exciting. Outdoor stages, and music everywhere, the experience was great. The city itself is fantastic. Did toursty thing during the day and hit the cafés and the Jazz Fest at night. Of course i went shopping as well, you can't expect me to go to Montréal and not shop.

I got some really good photo time in during the trip, so i'll be submitting quite regularly over the next week or so. I'd really appreciate feedback if you have any. I have a few photo's below from the trip just to give you a taste of what it was like.

So now i'm back and am working steadily on my photos etc. Im really in a chillax mood. If neone wants to go out soon just give me a ring a ding ding. Prolly gonna hit Charlie and the Chocolate Factory next week. I absolutly adored the original movie and the new one's bound to be good. That's all for now, hope everyone's having a kickass summer, drop me a note or e-mail if you're bored.
